Frequently Asked Questions

Finding the Right Screen

How do I find the right replacement laptop screen?

The most reliable method is to find the panel part number printed on the sticker on the back of your existing screen. It will look something like N156HRA-EA1, LQ156M1JW03 or B156HAN12.H. Enter this directly into our search bar and we will show you the exact replacement.

Alternatively, search by your laptop model number (e.g. Dell Latitude 5520, HP EliteBook 840 G10, Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3) and we will match you to compatible panels.

Where do I find the panel part number on my laptop screen?

Remove the broken screen from the laptop and look at the sticker on the back of the panel. The part number is usually a combination of letters and numbers such as NE156QHM-NY1 or ATNA40YK07-0. It may also be labelled as the model number or P/N on the sticker.

What if I can't find the part number?

You can search by your laptop model number instead. If you're still unsure, contact us at info@technologyvs.co.uk or call 0208 848 4445 and our team will identify the correct screen for you.

What do IPS, TN and OLED mean?

IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels offer wide viewing angles, accurate colours and good contrast — the most common type in modern laptops. TN (Twisted Nematic) panels are older technology with narrower viewing angles but fast response times. OLED panels deliver the best contrast and deepest blacks with vivid colours, found in premium laptops. We stock all three types.

What is the difference between 30-pin and 40-pin connectors?

The connector is the cable at the bottom of the screen that plugs into the laptop's motherboard. Older screens typically use a 30-pin eDP connector while most modern screens use a 40-pin eDP connector. These are not interchangeable — it is important to match the connector type of your existing screen. The panel part number search on our site will always return screens with the correct connector for your model.

Does the screen size have to match exactly?

Yes — the physical screen size and aspect ratio must match your laptop's bezel and chassis. A 15.6" screen cannot be fitted in a 14" laptop. Resolution can sometimes be upgraded (e.g. fitting a Full HD screen in place of an HD screen) as long as the panel part number, connector type and physical dimensions are compatible.

Can I upgrade my screen to a higher resolution or refresh rate?

In many cases yes — for example upgrading from 60Hz to 144Hz, or from Full HD to QHD. However, the laptop's GPU and display cable must support the higher spec. Contact us with your laptop model and we can advise on compatible upgrade options.

Orders & Delivery

Do you offer same-day dispatch?

Yes. Orders placed before 2:30pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day from our UK warehouse in Hayes, Middlesex. Orders placed after 2:30pm or on weekends are dispatched the next working day.

How long does delivery take?

Standard UK delivery typically takes 1–2 working days. Next working day delivery is available at checkout. International orders to Europe typically take 3–7 working days depending on destination.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship to most countries in Europe and worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location and chosen service.

How will I know when my order has been dispatched?

You will receive an email confirmation when your order is dispatched, including tracking information so you can follow your delivery.

Products & Quality

Are your laptop screens genuine / OEM quality?

Yes. We stock brand new OEM panels from leading manufacturers including Samsung, LG, BOE-Hydis, Sharp, AU Optronics and CMO Chimei Innolux — the same manufacturers that supply the major laptop brands. We also stock TechnologyVS-branded equivalents that are batch-tested to meet or exceed OEM specifications. We do not sell used, refurbished or grey-market panels.

Do your screens come with a warranty?

All products carry a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. This covers screens, keyboards, chargers and accessories. If your product develops a fault within the warranty period, contact us and we will arrange a replacement or refund.

What is your pixel policy for screens?

All our screens conform to ISO 13406-2 standards, which define the acceptable number of defective pixels. Under this standard, up to 2 dead pixels and 5 dead sub-pixels per million is within tolerance. If your screen arrives with dead pixels, contact us and we will arrange an exchange. If you require a guaranteed zero dead pixel screen, please contact us before ordering.

Do you sell touch screen replacements?

Yes — we stock over 2,000 touch screen panels for 2-in-1 laptops, convertibles and Chromebooks. Touch screen assemblies include the LCD panel and digitiser. Search by your laptop model or panel part number to find the right touch panel.

Do you sell OLED laptop screen replacements?

Yes — we stock a wide range of OLED laptop screens including Samsung ATNA-series panels used in Dell XPS, HP Spectre, Asus ZenBook, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 and other premium laptops. Search by part number or laptop model to find the correct OLED panel.

Returns & Warranty

What is your returns policy?

Consumers have a 28-day cooling-off period to return any item for any reason, provided it is returned in its original, unused condition and packaging. Faulty items are collected or can be returned at our cost. Trade customers should refer to our Terms of Service for trade return conditions.

How do I return an item?

Email info@technologyvs.co.uk with your order number and reason for return. Our team will issue an RMA number and return instructions. Please do not return items without an RMA number as this may delay your refund.

What if my screen is the wrong size or doesn't fit?

If you ordered the wrong screen, contact us within 28 days and we will arrange an exchange or refund provided the item is returned unused and in its original packaging. We recommend always verifying the panel part number before ordering to ensure an exact fit.
